Sir Peter Anderson’s dream of incorporating the Conch Republic with Key West is more real then ever following his passing. Key West entrepreneur and icon Paul Menta and Anderson’s only heir Mikaela Anderson are keeping the Republic alive and strong, finally uniting the Republic with city of Key West, and Mikaela said the headquarters will remain in town but will most likely change locations.
“The mayor is the acting Prime Minister of the Conch Republic so we present him with a sash and proclamation,” said Menta. “And we are working on establishing the Island Congress to continue Anderson’s dream.” Somewhere Sir Peter Anderson is smiling, looking down over the city of Key West.“My goal is to take the Conch Republic to the next level. My father set everything in place so we can carry out the legacy,” said Mikaela Anderson. “The Conch Republic is not going anywhere.”
