Florida SBDC Assists Florida Keys Businesses Hurricane Irma

The Florida SBDC Network has deployed their first Mobile Action Center to the Florida Keys after Hurricane Irma. It will arrive in the Lower Keys on Friday, September 29, 2017. Local Business owners can meet one-on-one with a loan specialist who can guide them through the process of completing an Emergency Bridge Loan or SBA Disaster Loan application. The Florida SBDC at Florida Keys Community College in partnership with the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce & Official Visitors Center of Key Largo will be hosting an event on Saturday, September 30th at 10:00 a.m. to share information about the Emergency Bridge Loan Program. Businesses with 2-100 employees can take advantage of this program. Businesses can request up to $50,000 of capital, for six months at no interest from this State of Florida program. We will also be sharing information about local resources as well as an overview on how we can assist SBA Disaster Loan applicants. Our location is 106000 Overseas Highway Key Largo. If you want to fill out your application on site, please bring your personal and corporate tax returns for the last two years and proof of payroll.

On Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Florida SBDC at Florida Keys Community College in partnership with the Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a lenders roundtable at the Hyatt Place Marathon/Florida Keys in Marathon, 1996 Overseas Highway. We are working to help small business owners throughout the Keys better understand the Emergency Bridge Program, local options, and how the SBDC can help local small business owners with their SBA Disaster Loan applications.

The Florida SBDC at Florida Keys Community College will be joining the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce on October 4, 2017, at 5:00 to share resources available to local small business owners. The location is Mote Marine Lab Center for Tropical Research, 24244 Overseas Highway.
