Curfew Update 10/2/17

Curfew update: As of Monday, October 2, the curfew for all areas of the Florida Keys has been lifted. The last remaining areas of curfew were from Big Coppitt Key to the Seven Mile Bridge.
Sheriff’s deputies will be actively patrolling residential neighborhoods, continuing to keep an eye out for suspicious people and suspicious activity. Anyone who sees someone who they believe does not belong in their neighborhood, or sees activity that looks unusual or suspicious, should call the Sheriff’s Office to report it at 305-289-2351. People with emergencies should, of course, call 911.
Boil Water Notice
The Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority announced that there no longer are any boil water notices in effect in the Keys.
Upper Keys Boat Ramp Openings
Monroe County has opened Sunset Park’s Boat ramp at MM 95 bayside.
The Caribbean Club at 104080 Overseas Hwy, in Key Largo (MM104) also has opened its public-access boat ramp.
For boating emergencies, call the Marathon Fish and Wildlife Commission at 305-470-6863.
For Non-Emergency calls to the FWC, dial 850-488-5600.
LIBRARIES
Monroe County will open three of its five library branches on Monday. They are the branches in Key Largo, Islamorada and Big Pine Key. The branches in Key West and Marathon are being evaluated for damage.
SNAKE CREEK DRAWBRIDGE
On Monday, Sept. 25, Snake Creek Drawbridge in Tavernier resumes regular operations for openings for mariners.
City of Marathon Update
DEBRIS REMOVAL: The debris pickup schedule area will be posted daily. This schedule is subject to change and has been posted to give our residents a general idea of when the contractor will be in their area. The City will notice before each debris push. We are still progressing on the first pickup city wide.
1st Debris push has been completed or will be completed by end of day, Oceanside only: 11th Street to 30th Street Oceanside, 63rd Street Ocean to 97th Street Ocean except for Sombrero areas, and Grassy Key to Coco Plum Oceanside (Avenue A and B not completed).
The following areas are on the schedule today and tomorrow:
95th and 96th Streets Ocean moving East
Sombrero Beach area
Sombrero Blvd. area
Flamingo Isle
Little Venice Oceanside area
HOUSEHOLD WASTE: Marathon Garbage Service has resumed normal schedules for trash pickup. Recycling Services have been suspended until October 1st. To ensure household trash IS NOT mixed with debris or it will not be picked up.
MARINE DEBRIS – We are in the early stages of organizing our marine related debris recovery and removal efforts in partnership with our county, state and federal partners. We will update who to contact and the procedure.
