Let's use Key deer as attractions to lure tourists.

From KeysNet.com - Wednesday, March 21, 2012 10:40 AM EDT

I disagree with Katie Perry, biological technician at the National Key Deer Refuge, who says in her guest column to not feed the Key deer. I say have a petting and feeding place and have your picture taken with them.

Do this on Boot Key and other such keys and advertise and promote petting and feeding. This would bring tourists by the millions.

what an insult to the firefighting profession. both earned great money and benefits in that profession, but were greedy and still wanted more by earning it illegally. not only did they use casitas, but also took way beyond their limit using someone elses license who isn't even a fisherman. my guess is the brother in south dakota is an accessory obtaining the license for illegal purposes and should also be charged. both should lose their jobs and any pension and all 3 should spend the next 5 years in prison thinking about it. until poachers start doing hard time for their crimes poaching will remain out of control. i really don't care how it affects their family either, they knew what they were doing and didn't care they were stealing from all florida residents while depleting a precious resource we rely upon for tourism and legitimate fishing operators. they also stole from everyday folks who enjoy catching bugs for personal consumption. this needs to stop!!!

This just shows how stupid these people are. After the Dreifort bust on Cudjoe a couple years ago, wasn't it obvious the Feds were cracking down on this. These guys are just idiots. And Kimbler, it was just a matter of time before his arrogance caught up to him.

Submitted by Jet Stream
In two separate comments you've mentioned that the Bahamas have some of the cleanest waters in the world. Twice you've drawn a line between clean water and casitas. I'd like to hear your explanation how casitas = clean water.

First off, the only post here that has any accuracy is 6GenCracker.He has summed it up quite perfectly. The rest of you have know idea what the hell you’re talking about. Casitas are without a doubt more environmentally friendly than traps. In the Bahamas the fisherman do NOT use traps. They only use Casitas and they have some of the most pristine waters in the world. Like 6GenCracker said they are being considered for legalization, which alone speaks volumes. As for honorable men, I would defiantly put Mr. Kimbler at the top of the list. He unlike Dave Dreifort will be holding his head high. Stay strong big boy. We love you

Very well put...... you see the big guys in NOAA /FWC won't stop till all the local boys are out of the picture. So their corporate buddies can come down and set up shop. Bill Cossey sent these Feds down here to clean up . All his big trap industry friends can understand why he's testing & doing studies on casitas , but they all will see soon enough . NOAA has promoted the use of " lobster ranching " in other places , now they had to do studies again . they'll just keep wasting our tax money and justifying there existence.
