Florida Keys Giant Lobster For Sale!
If you have traveled through Islamorada in the past decade you are sure to remember this giant lobster that adorned the parking lot of the Treasure Village of artists. A couple of years ago the property was sold and now houses a school.
Earlier this year the lobster suddenly disappeared and there has been much speculation as to it’s whereabouts. In August of this year there was an article in the Keynoter and Reporter which stated:
Betsey, the famed 40-foot-long giant lobster, disappeared from her longtime home outside the former Treasure Village in Islamorada a few weeks before lobster season opened.
Betsey the giant lobster will be back better than ever, one of her owners says. “She’s taking a bit of a rest right now,” Tom Vellanti said. “It’s like she’s at the spa, getting a beauty treatment.
Well Betsey has reappeared…On EBAY!
Yes it is true our beloved giant lobster is for sale to the highest offer and may never return. There is a “Buy It Now” price of $250,000 and lists the Item Location as Vero Beach, FL. You have until November 13 to get your offers in, or purchase for the full asking price. There has been one offer, on Oct. 14th, which was declined.
