Things to do Places to go in Key Largo

Hopefully you love the outdoors for Key Largo is outdoors. The glass bottom boat ride in John Pennekamp Coral Reef Park, at mile marker 102.5 is a must thing to do. Key Largo is right on the eastern boundry of Everglades National Park and there are plenty of guided tours into the "backcountry" to bird watch, see dolphin, manatee and if you are lucky the elusive Florida saltwater crocodile.

For experienced divers the Spiegel Grove, a retired 510-foot naval ship intentionally sunk to create an artificial reef, is a highly regarded dive. Divers of all abilities can't miss the world famous Christ of the Abyss dive.

Ever dreamed of swimming with dolphins then Dolphins Plus has the program for you. Please remember to make your reservations early.

All you old movie fans will enjoy seeing The African Queen, the boat that was one of the stars in the movie of the same name, it can be seen and chartered at Holiday Harbor Marina, MM 100. After your boat trip you can order a drink at the Caribbean Club at MM 104 bayside, the model for the set of the film "Casablanca" and rumored to have had a part in the film "Key Largo".

Fishing should be on all visitor’s "Must-Do" list. Whether you decide to charter a deep-sea or back country boat complete with guide, you will find that Key Largo’s waters are overflowing with game fish. In fact, more than ten percent of the IGFA saltwater line class and fly fishing world records have been recorded in Key Largo.
